Redesigned and rewrote a genealogical database system, using C/C++ and X/Motif on Sun SPARCstations; Performed on-line searches for relevant software and genealogical data.

June, 1994 - Fall, 1995

On sabbatical - boating and other projects, including:

Assisted in rehab'ing a 1700's farmhouse on Sacandaga Lake, NY.
Assisted in painting a 1900's single-family home in Troy, NY.
Rehab'ed an 1800's brick-duplex in Troy, NY.

Since March, 1993

Established Down Stream Boating - a general partnership; as 90% owner, searched for and purchased a 33' "cruising" sailing yacht for purposes of chartering and providing sailing education to individuals; Solo-sailed from Lake Champlain, NY to Marathon Key, FL via the Intercoastal Waterway and back to Rhode Island/Connecticut; negotiated contracts with brokers and chartering agents.

Since 1987

Purchased a brick duplex, built in Troy circa 1860; completed major interior and exterior renovations; initiated efforts to secure tenants; maintained the property.

1995 - 1997

Toured much of Rhode Island and Connecticut, over-nighting on Down Stream ; Planed-trained to San Diego - Winter '97, with a day-trip to Mexico and Pheonix.
