Spring Tree Planting Troy's Street Tree Advisory Committee and Capital District Community Gardens are accepting applications for the 1997 Spring Street Tree Planting. Troy residents can apply to have a free tree planted in front of their home or business. Volunteers including Emma Willard School students and faculty will be planting trees throughout the City on Wednesday, April 23rd. "We hope to plant 50-60 trees this time" said Sharon DiLorenzo, Program Manager of Community Gardens. "That's only half of what we planted last year, but we only have half o the funds we had last year." Presently, only 20 application have been submitted. The application deadline is Friday, February 14th. Call Community Gardens at 274-8685 to receive an application form. Capital District Community Gardens is a private nonprofit community service organization that has been helping people improve their own neighborhoods through gardening and greening for over 20 years.
