Casino Royale Event Commemorates 165th Anniversary

Vanderheyden Hall will celebrate its 165th Anniversary with an evening of fun and games at Casino Royale, Saturday, October 3, 1998 from 7:30 PM until midnight at the Italian Community Center Charitable Foundation at 1450 Fifth Avenue, Troy.

Yolanda Vega of the NY Lottery will be a special guest and one of the celebrities taking part in the Celebrity Bocci Tournament for charity. Bocci team sponsors are still being received.

Dr. Ritchie and Karen Parrotta are co-chairmen of this anniversary fund raiser, with the support of the membership of the Italian Community Center Charitable Foundation, County Executive and Mrs. Henry Zwack, Mr. and Mrs. William Phelan, Rayg Display, Inc., Stewart's Shops, and NCS Healthcare, Inc.

The evening will feature a casino atmosphere with games. A silent auction will include a variety of theme gift baskets, travel packages, and many fantastic auction items for your bidding fun. A scrumptious assortment of Italian foods from appetizers to desserts will be served with complimentary beers and wines. To round out your evening of fun, enjoy a free tarot card reading from Tom Kern and have your caricature drawn by Jeanne A. Benas Art Studio. Sample some of the finest cigars of J. Cabrella or sing along with the musical entertainment of Mary Lou Bartolotta-Connally!

Proceeds from Casino Royale will benefit Vanderheyden Hall serving special needs children from the Capital Region and beyond. Funds raised will be used to furnish and equip a new school being built for children with special learning needs at Vanderheyden Hall. For ticket information call 283-6500 Ext. 210.

Vanderheyden's Rubin Home to Hold Yard Sale

Troy-Vanderheyden Hall's Rubin Home for Girls will hold a Yard Sale on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th from 10am - 3 pm at 7 Collins Avenue, Troy (off Pawling Avenue). Proceeds will benefit the Rubin Home Recreation & Holiday Fund. Residents are currently saving for a trip to New York City.

The sale will feature a variety of used household items and clothing. Anyone wishing to donate articles may call Leanne at 272-5516.
