Light the Steeple Fund Raiser Light the Steeple Fund Raiser at First Baptist Church, 82 Third Street, Troy. A Rummage Sale will be held in Whitman Fellowship Hall on Saturday, October 24 from 10 am to 4 pm. Many items are available for children, adults, babies and households. There will be a DOLLAR bag sale from 1 pm to 4 pm for everything in the room except for an enclosed special item area. Sandwiches and drink will be available from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. This fund is being used to purchase light bulbs, and to investigate a more efficient means of lighting the steeple. The steeple has long been a focal point to let travelers know they were approaching Troy, especially those traveling on boats on the Hudson River. In cooperation with Troy United Ink Corp., a not-for-profit corporation
