New York State Theater Institute Ron Nicoll 274-3491 Three recent world-premiere productions staged by the New York State Theater Institute have been released as the Family Classics Audio Books series. The new venture, part of a continuing collaboration between Warner Music Group and NYSTI, features stage and screen actors of international renown introducing complete cast recordings of the shows, each in a two-cassette version. In keeping with NYSTI's concept of presenting professional theater for family audiences, all three stories are new adaptations drawn from the great literature for young people. irst in the series in the musical The Snow Queen, introducing and narrated by noted British stage and screen actor Jonathan Pryce, whose honors include Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk and Golden Globe awards. He has been seen on the screen most recently in Evita and Tomorrow Never Dies. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., star of some 80 movies, provides the introduction and an epilogue to the audio book of The Canterville Ghost. A Little Princess is introduced by "the girl next door" Jane Powell, first famed in classic MGM musicals such as Royal Wedding and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
