Community voice . . . 1965

The city of Troy is located on the Hudson, but the potential. beauty of this river has not yet been used to benefit the town. Troy has dramatic hills, but the city has not yet taken full advantage of them.

Troy has vacant properties, skilled labor, and excellent educational institutions, but it has been slow to attract new industries. Troy has a rich history as an industrial and cultural center, but for decades it has lacked self-confidence and vision. Troy has citizens who are capable of leadership, but who have not yet discovered one another, or their power to make the difference in their future.

Troy has some fine buildings, and many good structures that can form the nucleus for a remarkable city, but it has not yet learned to protect its treasures, or to add to them.

Troy has forgotten what it was, and not yet seen what it can be.
