What Troy Lions Do

Call for more info 448-6733

  • Provide eye exams and eyeglasses to the local needy
  • Sponsor awards and scholarships at local high schools
  • Supply vision testing and screening
  • Provide special receivers for RISE listeners
  • Distribute food, clothing and gifts at Christmas to the vision and hearing impaired
  • Fund special medical treatment at the Lions Eye Institute
  • Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids for distribution to third-world countries
  • Support Troy's Victorian Stroll
  • Support the Troy Public Library
  • Distribute educational material about diabetes, glaucoma, and other vision-related diseases
  • Promote volunteerism among high school students
  • Educate local school nurses about children's eye problems
  • Participate in local health fairs
  • Contribute to the Lions Eye Institute, Northeastern Association of the Blind, Lions Club International Foundation, Sight Conservation Society, Hearing Conservation Society, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, etc.
  • Assisted in the formation of the Sight Conservation Society of Northeastern New York
  • Contribute to disaster-relief both locally and Internationally
  • Enjoy our selves at local Lions social events, and make new friends at state and international conventions. (All work and no play make a dull Lion!)

    Come join the men and women of the world's largest service organization and help us make life a little more pleasant for the blind and the needy. We need your support, your time and your ideas! You'll be surprised at how much personal satisfaction you get from helping those less fortunate.

    We meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm at the Best Western Rensselaer Inn, 1800 Sixth Ave. in downtown Troy.
