Jr. Museum Receives $20K Gift from Golub FoundationGolub Foundation Of Price Chopper Supermarkets Names The Junior Museum As Recipient of Gift - Establishes Changing Exhibit Gallery at New Facility. The Junior Museum announced today its receipt of a $20,000 gift toward its capital campaign from the Golub Foundation of Price Chopper Supermarkets. This gift will establish a changing exhibit site in The Museum's new facility which is scheduled to open next year. "This gift to The Junior Museum represents our deep commitment to the community." says Melissa Troia, administrator of the Golub Foundation. It will ensure access to top-notch educational programming for all children in the Capital Region." "Since l982, the Golub Foundation and Price Chopper have partnered with The Junior Museum, providing funds that enhance our ability to create unique, hands-on teaming environments," says Ralph Pascale, executive director of The Junior Museum. "We are thankful for the Golub Foundation's continued support of our programs." The Golub Foundation's $20,000 gift will name the Changing Exhibits Gallery, a new feature in the Junior Museum. The Changing Exhibits Gallery will house traveling exhibits on a short-term basis (3-6 months) and enable The Museum to offer a diverse range of activities, including national touring exhibits. "We are thrilled to know that the Golub Foundation and Price Chopper will continue to play a big part in the future of The Junior Museum," said Sandra Doring, director of development for The Museum. Created in 1981, the Golub Foundation of Price Chopper has been assisting various charitable endeavors throughout the Price Chopper communities. The foundation allocates funds to charities across each of the five states where Price Chopper does business, including New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. The Junior Museum was founded in 1954 to provide hands-on learning experiences for children in science, history and the arts. Currently located in North Troy, The Museum is renovating the historic Winslow Building on 8th street in downtown Troy into a state-of-the-art museum for the Capital Region.
