Dyken Pond Center - Public Programs

The Dyken Pond Center is a low-use recreation area as well as an environmental study center. We are open to the public daily during daylight hours. There are six miles of hiking trails across varied terrain, a canoe launch for non-motor boats, fishing access, and picnic sites by the lake front and at the main field. To preserve the environmental sensitivity of the area, there is no swimming, open fires or collecting of any kind.

The Center's public programs cover a wide range of topics and interests. All programs are open to both adults and children accompanied by their parents. Organized groups of four or more people must call ahead for reservations.

Usually 1 to 2 hours in length, these programs are available to schools, scout troops lake associations, outdoors clubs or any group with a minimum of 6 people. Classes include environmental science, current environmental issues and outdoor living skills. Please contact the Center for a 1999 program list, class fees and for more information.

Dyken Pond offers a variety of programs to fit your group's particular needs. These are either held at the Center or your own site, including:

  • Teacher Workshops
  • Youth Leadership Training
  • Bluebird Nest Box Workshop
  • Small Conference Site

The Dyken Pond newsletter is printed biannually and is mailed to Friends of Dyken Pond, recent Dyken Pond visitors, and those who request to be on our mailing list. Visitors remain on our mailing list for one year from their last visit unless they become a Friend of Dyken Pond. Please notify us if you would like to be on the mailing list.

You may become a Friend of Dyken Pond, helping the Center continue to improve its programs, by sending a contribution:
