Junior Museum - June Activities

The Junior Museum will sponsor the following
activities throughout June 1999. Most activities are included in the
regular cost of admission. Admission is $3 per person during the week,
$4 per person on weekends, holidays, and during school breaks. Children
under age two and Museum members are admitted free. The Junior Museum
located at 282 Fifth Ave., Troy, is open to the public Wednesday through
Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
June 5, 1999
Junior Museum bus trip to the Bronx Zoo
Join The Junior Museum for something wild! Summer is a wonderful time to
visit the largest metropolitan wildlife park in the nation - the Bronx
Zoo. You'll see more than 4,000 animals - all in their natural habitats
- and enjoy a day of fun-filled rides and attractions. Prices, which
include round-trip transportation and admission to the zoo, are as
follows: $46 per adult / $44 per senior / $42 per child under age 12.
Junior Museum members take 10 percent off all prices. Buses leave The
Junior Museum at 7am and return at around 8pm.
June 5 and 6, 1999 / 1pm - 4pm
Family Fun Activity: Solar Cookers
"You know the is hot, but you didn't know it was this hot! Make you own
solar oven to try out on your own at home. (Included with the regular
price of admission.)
June 12 and 13, 1999 / 1pm - 4pm
Family Fun Activity: Pinecone Flowers
With a little creativity, you will turn ordinary pinecones into pretty
flower decorations! (Included with the regular price of admission.)
June 19 and 20, 1999 / 1pm - 4pm
Father's Day Weekend at The Junior Museum
Dads, granddads, and uncles are admitted free this weekend when
accompanied by a child!
Family Fun Activity: Make-your-own "Tie" Bookmarks
Make a special gift for Father's day to give to that special person. You
will personalize your own "tie" to make it extra special! (Included with
the regular price of admission.)
June 26, 1999 / 11:00 - Noon
Workshop: Buzzing Around
Bees have unique traits and complex lifestyles. Learn about the various
parts of a bee, the life cycle, and duties of a bee's life, and how bees
work with each other to keep the hive going. Reserve your spot by
calling the Junior Museum at 235-2120. Cost is $5 per person and
includes admission to the museum. Members cost is $4 per person.
June 26 and 27, 1999 / Noon - 5pm
Super Science Spectacular: Weather
Learn about the weather at this super science spectacular. (Included
with the regular price of admission.)
