Free Family Fun at Annual Harvest & Craft Festival Lulleen Lamar 274-8685 Capital District Community Gardens' will hold their annual Harvest & Craft Festival on Sunday, September 26, 1999 from 11am-5pm. The festival will take place outdoors, on the block of Eighth Street, Troy (between Hoosick and Jacob streets), just off Route 7 and the Hoosick Street Bridge. The event is free of charge and offers an array of activities the entire family will enjoy. The festival will feature crafters, farm-fresh produce, assorted food vendors, baked goods, live music, and a wide assortment of children's activities.An assortment of local musicians and dancers will appear on the main stage throughout the day. Local and regional craftspeople will sell one-of-a-kind crafts, hand-made jewelry, pottery woodwork, and more. Children's activities will include clowns face printing, a petting zoo. Stomping Ground's Air Bounce, and guest appearances by Zing-a-grams Rugbrats-Angelica, Chuckie & Tommy. The Harvest & Craft Festival is being sponsored by Freihofer's Met Life, Metroland, The Record, Stewart's Shops, Time Warner, The Times Union, Tri-City Rentals, and Troy Savings Bank. The event will be held rain or shine. Capital District Community Gardens will hold a raffle in support of their efforts to create neighborhood gardens throughout the Capital Region. Raffle tickets can be purchased in advance for $1 each or 10 for $8. Any craftsperson, farmer, or food vendor interested in a booth should contact Community Gardens' office for an application and booth rental rates.
