- The Trial of Bat Shea
Jack Casey, Author of The Trial of Bat Shea
This Troy native, author of 3 historical novels, will speak about his book The Trial of Bat Shea, which pits the immigrant's ideal of America against the entrenched power of flag-waving factions for whom the ends justify any means. Casey will discuss the experience of the working class and the criminal justice system. He will also bring his guitar and include Irish songs which are thematically related to this piece of Troy history. Don't miss this special presentation!

A crew member from the USS Slater, the historic naval ship and museum, will present a talk on the history of World War II Destroyer Escorts which protected large convoys from German U-Boat attacks in the Atlantic and protected battleships, aircraft carriers, and other ships against Japanese air attacks in the Pacific.
