RCCA Awards its 1st Round of Artists Grants

Troy's newest outdoor sculpture was recently unveiled in Prospect Park. A five-foot-tall dancing squirrel, sitting atop a 10-foot-tall pedistal, was carved out of a standing tree by artist Jim Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was one of two recipients in the first round of newly instated Individual Artist Grants through RCCA, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts. The grant is open to artists living in Renssselaer County for public projects within the community. Ray Materson, an embroidery artist, was the other first round recipient.
