Troy Public Library November Speakers Mary-Trev Thomas 274-7071 The Troy Public Library will be hosting a program entitled The Soviet Union Revisited at 7pm on November 9 at the Main Library, 100 Second Street, Troy, New York. This program, presented by Alexandra Schatoff and Nina Hicok is a glimpse of Russia at the height of its communist past as seen through the eyes of American photographer, Margaret Bourke-White. Her limited edition photographs trace the history of Russia's early industrialization during the implementation of Statin's first five year plan. The program will include a display of Bourke-White's photos accompanied by a brief history and a taste of Russian culture during the 1930's complete with then popular Russian music, food, dress, art, and artifacts. This program is free and open to the public. We cordially invite everyone to attend and enjoy reliving one of Russia's most dynamic eras. In cooperation with Troy United Ink Corp., a not-for-profit corporation |
