Historic Action Network - March Council Meeting Dear Folks, I am sending you a press release about the recent activities of the Historic Action Network group concerning the proposed demolition of the Freihofer Bakery and Riverside Club buildings. Also, AN ALERT! Regular City Council meeting, Thursday March 2nd, 7:00PM, Troy City Hall. AGENDA: Rite Aid and CVS are applying for Zoning changes from RESIDENTIAL to COMMERCIAL, so that they can build large stores (with drive-thru's).
(respectively). At both sites, they want to demolish two additional adjacent homes to increase the size of the site. I live on 23rd Street (off Hoosick), 2 blocks away from the Burdett Ave Rite Aid Proposed site. I definitely think that this is a bad idea for this neighborhood (as well as the CVS up the street). And if it approved of these proposals, the City of Troy would be contradicting the recommendations of the Hoosick Street Corridor Study (NOT to change any zoning in this area from RESIDENTIAL to COMMERCIAL)! Please get to the City Council Meeting Thrsday evening, and try to bring a friend!
Thanks, In cooperation with Troy United Ink Corp., a not-for-profit corporation |
