Letters to the Editor - March 2000 Troy's unique atmosphere I recently relocated to the southern tier of NY. Since moving here, I have come to realize how much I love Troy. I was born and raised there. Being the home of Uncle Sam is really something to be proud of. I am surprised when I tell people where I'm from that they had no idea where he was from. Some people think I'm making it up, but not so. I will have to cite this homepage as proof. I am even more surprised that some people thought he was purely a fictional character. I am making it a point to bring some of the friends I have made here in the southern tier to Troy.
