Saving the Past: Local Archeology Talk 274-7071 Archeologilst Karen Hartgen of Hartgen Archeological Associates of Troy, one of the state's largest archeological firms, will present a slide show and talk entitled Archeology in the Upper Hudson Region on Monday, March 13 at 7 p m. at Troy Public Library, 100 Second Street, Troy. Hartgen will detail some of the major excavations that she and members of her team have conducted in the last ten years. Important projects include the 1996 unearthing of a 1780 bulkhead along the original Hudson River shoreline and remnants of an 18th century stockade behind the Foley Federal Courthouse in Albany. In 1995 members of her firm discovered two Native American skeletons at the site of a Waterford municipal sewer project. The program is free and open to the public.
